Thought it may be fun to see what abbreviations we all use, do they mean different things in different places or would we understand each other's notes if a woman transferred care to a different area/country.

What I've done is make them all into a big list - the ones I know are right because they are mine and have been guessed are in black, if they have been guessed but not verified they are in blue.

Those of you who added your own abreviations confirm them by making them black if right - anyone can add to the end of the list

What is costovertebral angle tenderness

CVAT is a form of percussion to determine if a pregnant woman has kidney infection. If she expresses pain at waist level on her back with percussion it is a good indicator that she has kidney infection. It's described in Heart and Hands.
