Default New Apprenticeship

Just wanting to share with every one my experiences with my new apprenticeship.
This is week 2 for me... I am loving it very much... My new preceptor is very very into getting new midwives, and is taking an active part in my learning. Which is completely awesome.
This last week we (i have a fellow apprentice to study with) learned about routine ua's , why how what we are looking for and what to do when we find it.. I am learning sooo much more... so now my reponsibility during clinic days are to help moms interpret their dipsticks. Which freakin ROCKS!!!! I also come in about 15-30 min early on clinic days and pull the charts for the day, look to see if there are any labs to be done and prep for them, and of course make sure the birthcenter is up and ready for clinic and births at any given moment.
I have to say that I am liking this preceptor better than the last one as far as learning goes... her attitude and style is closer to mine too... Dont get me wrong... I adore Susie (my previous preceptor) and I look forward to working with her in the future, but as far as teaching goes... I am liking my new preceptor more.
anyways... I gotta hit the books again... gotta learn about blood pressure, and then some history... by the way... if anyone happens to be looking for a good course of study... Via Vita is very very thorough... makes MTB look like an outline... and if you have seen the MTB course you know that is saying a lot!
anyways... Its nice to be all fired up again about studying..
jsut wanted to share with y'all
Love and Light,
Denise

So happy it worked out for you so quickly. You were made to do this work.
